During our career fair today we connected girl scouts with professionals – this is from the series of the Career Data Card we provided:
Bar Method Instructor
(right now while I’m raising 2 kids) — Someday I hope to start/own a fitness program of my own.
Brief job description: Teach fitness classes to many students — all shapes and sizes and ages. Safe, effective program for almost everyone — that’s why I love it!
Skills needed: 4-6 months training to gain certification. Extensive knowledge in fitness programs, human anatomy. Dance and music background very helpful.
Education needed: I have an undergraduate business degree — a great foundation when I start my own business. 14 years experience in finance business.
Fun fact about my job: I’ve been teaching for 4 years and taking classes there for 5 years. It’s a great community and have made many friends there. My job keeps me fit and healthy and I hope to be able to do it for many years to come.
Favorite thing about my job: Seeing the transformations that happen in our students — physically and just overall.
