SpaceX Employees Share Their Career Pride

If you want to see people that love their jobs in action – watch the SpaceX employees do commentary during their rocket launches. Not only will you see people excited about the work they do, you will learn all kinds of great facts about space and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math). This is history in the making, as the first rockets from a commercial company take payloads to the International Space Station, AND the rocket comes back down and lands on earth, in order to be reused.
It is unique for a company to put employees that are not from the executive offices or official public relations department into the public eye to tell the corporate story. SpaceX does lots of unique things, this is just one of them. They rotate different engineers, scientist and experts to provide commentary at each launch. While they give details about the launch, the technology and the mission, their co-workers are watching the event unfold on large screens in the SpaceX offices behind them. Each successful stage of the process is greeted with cheers and excitement. It’s better energy than a rock concert. These employees are cheering on their company and each other.
I watch these videos (and the live feeds whenever I can) and it makes me want to be there and be a part of SpaceX and the enthusiasm. Space related careers may be rare, but they are real. There are a little over 4,000 employees at SpaceX. Watch and see what it feels like to have a career that truly inspires you.
