Seeking Internships?
Internships are very valuable as they expose students to how companies work, what it takes to be a professional employee, and hopefully it gives insight into the fit of a career.
My advice for students looking at internships for the summer or during the school year includes the criticality of choosing companies with jobs you really want to learn more about. It is also important to find a company that is willing to help you meet as many co-workers within the company during the internship. Request a way to systematically chat with employees to learn about what their job is like and what career path they have taken. You may learn more about your career options during these discussion then you do while executing your job duties of the internship.
Internships are great for building a resume and hopefully for building skills. They are also needed for building your network and possibly for identifying a company that you want to work for after your education is completed.
